幼少よりクラシックバレエを始める。高校卒業後渡米し、Utah Valley University 舞踊科へ入学、スカラシップを受けバレエを専攻する。卒業後、ニューヨークでフリーとして活動。NY拠点の振付家、カンパニーの作品に出演、ツアー参加。NY/NJエリアにてバレエ講師を務める。自身のコンテンポラリーバレエ作品もニューヨークエリアのダンスフェスティバルやショーケースで多数発表、選出される。
東京に拠点を移した現在、都内各スタジオにて幼児から大人まで幅広く教えている。地方へのワークショップも行い、発表会やコンクールのバレエ作品コンテンポラリー作品も振り付け、入賞者も出している。その他、海外のダンスフェスティバルへの出品・出演、PVやライブ出演等、ダンサー、インストラクター、振付家、として国内外問わず活動する。

Satomi Itohara began her ballet training in her home town of Yamaguchi, Japan. Following a move to the United States, she continued her education at Utah Valley University on a scholarship, where she graduated with a BFA in Dance.
Satomi moved to New York to train and was invited to join the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group under the direction of Davis Robertson. In high demand as a freelance dancer, she has worked with independent choreographers and companies in NYC, and toured around the nation. She enjoys choreographing and has presented her works in major dance festivals and showcases. in NYC such as The Dance Gallery Festival, Dumbo Dance Festival, The Identically Dance Festival, and many others.
She moved to Tokyo in 2016 and continues to present her works Internationally.
